Advocacy for Children and Young People

National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS) Cymru are a leading rights-based charity. They provide independent advocacy services to children and young adults in the Vale of Glamorgan, age 5–25 who have social work involvement.

Advocates are independent. They support the child or young person to make sure their rights are protected, their opinions are respected, and their voice is heard, especially when important decisions are being made about them.

Project Unity

Project Unity is an independent support project from NYAS Cymru. The project offers intensive support, opportunities, education and training to care-experienced pregnant women and young mums, up to the age of 25, across Wales.

Independent Visitors Service

Independent Visitors are trained adult volunteers who provide young people in care with long lasting friendship and support. Having an Independent Visitor is a statutory entitlement for all young people who are looked after by the local authority.
